Annotate with Windows Ink

When a document asks you to slow down, ink lets you stay with it. Paper supports the familiar marks you would make on a printed page, with the flexibility of a digital library.

Start with one mark

Choose a pen, pencil, or highlighter, then write directly on the page. Underline a phrase, circle a detail, or leave a short question in the margin.

Keep the tools lightweight

Use the eraser to clean up a mark and the ruler when a straight line helps. The best tool is the one that lets you return to the text quickly.

Make the annotation useful later

Try to make each mark answer a future question: What mattered here? What should I look up? Where did this idea change?
